The Lady Eagles started the soccer season with back-to-back ties in scrimmage games as well as one win to kickoff the season last week.

The team started the week with a scrimmage at home against Western Wyoming on Thursday. Despite a 0-0 tie, the Eagles took 24 shots versus WW’s two attempts. USU Eastern also had four corner kicks in the game while local goalie Jaylie Jensen protected the net.

Next up for the Lady Eagles was another home scrimmage against Treasure Valley Community College. The game ended in another tie at 0-0.

USU Eastern wrapped up the week with a 4-1 win against Northwest Kansas Tech in a regular season game. The Eagles dominated the first half as Taylor Stokes, Lindsay Bray, Mckenna Brown and Shaela Sanders all connected with the net. A small rally by Kansas Tech saw the team put one point on the board but it was not enough as the Eagles ran away with the 4-1 win. Jensen once again led the defense in the net.

The women will continue the season by hosting Iowa Central on Monday. Kickoff is salted for 1 p.m.
