It was all smiles for the Lady Eagles on Saturday as they defeated Southwestern Oregon Community College, sweeping yet another non-conference tournament and picking up their sixth straight win. The Eagles began the first quarter on a 10-0 run and continued to build upon that lead throughout the game, ultimately defeating the Lakers by a 26-point margin, 85-59.
Standout freshman Sharne Pupuke-Robati shot 61% from the floor, racking up 18 points, nine boards and six assists against the Lakers. Margarett Otuafi went 2-3 from behind the arc and added 15 points in her 24 minutes of play. Emmery Wagstaff was close behind with 14 points on the night. Kacelyn Toomer and Harley Carlisle both added 10 points in the contest.
Next up for the Lady Eagles is the Salt Lake Community College Thanksgiving Tournament in Taylorsville, Utah. This Friday, November 29, the team will take the court against Western Wyoming Community College at 1 p.m. The following day, on Saturday, November 30, they will face off against Eastern Wyoming College. Tip-off for that game will be at 1 p.m. inside the Bruin Arena. Both of these games will be live-streamed on the Scenic West Digital Network.
