Lady Panthers Fall to Whitehorse in Region Matchup

Following the Pinnacle boys’ basketball game on Friday evening, the Lady Panthers faced off against Whitehorse in hopes to snag a region win.

Pinnacle stayed close to their opponent up to the half with Whitehorse taking the lead at the break, 20-13. Whitehorse stayed in the lead during the third quarter with a score of 34-26 while the Panthers tried to catch up.

Whitehorse managed to score 20 more points during the fourth, which would cause the Panthers to fall in the region matchup, 54-38.

Sophomore Stephanie Sasser led team in rebounds with a total of 22 along with four steals and five blocks. Senior Nikki Borba led the team in steals for her career high of eight along with seven rebounds and seven points.

Alexus Salazar, a senior as well, had a successful night with 15 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks, leaving her just shy of a triple-double.

The Lady Panthers (7-9 , 0-3 Region 19) will welcome Monument Valley to their home court on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
