The Pinnacle Lady Panthers struggled against Monticello on Friday, losing their seventh straight game, this one by a score of 46-24.

Both teams faced shooting woes in the first half, not even breaking double digits until the second quarter. Monticello managed nine points in the first while the Panthers chipped in five. Both teams shot in single digits again in the second, Pinnacle with seven and Monticello with eight, leaving the hosting Panther squad trailing 17-12 at the break.

Monticello ignited in the second half, outscoring Pinnacle 29-12 to take the Region 19 win and put itself in the #3 seed.

Alexus Salazar and Stephanie Sasser led the Panthers with seven points apiece. Angel Welch chipped in five for the Price squad, including a lone bucket from downtown.

Pinnacle is currently trailing in the Region 19 standings, not winning a game thus far in region play. The team will look to remedy that on Tuesday as the Panthers host #1 Wayne, a team that is undefeated in region play. The teams will tip off at 7 p.m.
