Lady Panthers Named Region 19 Champions, Boys Take Third

One point was all that separated the Lady Panthers from Monticello at the end of the Region 19 Track Championship meet hosted last week in Blanding at San Juan High School.

The Lady Panthers finished first while the Buckaroos settled for second. The boys’ team also represented, walking away in third overall.

Remington Motte finished third in the boys’ 100 meters while Nyet Rasmussen finished strong in the girls’ contest, placing first. Brielle Motte also placed sixth in the same contest. Remington Motte returned in the 200, taking second while Huntter Sherman placed fourth.

Rasmussen continued her scoring action, taking first in the 200 meters while Kaysha Dnegan-Clegg took sixth. Rasmussen placed first again in the 400 meters while Kaeley Taylor brought home third. Alexandrea Sherman and Rasmussen placed first and second, respectively, in the girls’ 100 meter hurdles.

Huntter Sherman and Liam Bloomer represented in the boys’ 110 meter hurdles, putting up a second and fourth-place finish. Alexandrea Sherman and Taylor would return in the 300 meter hurdles for a first and third finish. Huntter Sherman took second in the 800 meters.

Alexandrea Sherman and Taylor continued racking up Panther points, placing first and third in the girls’ 800 meters while Savana Dart, Brielle Motte and Dnegan-Clegg placed third, fourth and fifth in the girls’ 1600 meters. Dark came back to take third in the 3200 meters while Remington Motte would take third in the boys’ high jump.

Remington Motte, Sherman and Hansen grabbed first, second and fourth in the boys’ long jump finals to continue Pinnacle’s scoring while Brielle Motte, Alexandrea Sherman and Taylor would take first, second and fifth in the long jump.

Tanner Hansen placed fourth in the boys’ shot put while Alexsandira Flores placed third in the girls’ contest. Brielle Motte and Flores returned in the girls’ discus for second and fourth. The Lady Panthers dominated the javelin finals, with Flores, Camryn Vigil and Dnegan-Clegg placing second, third and fourth for Pinnacle.
