The Lady Panthers’ drought in region play continued on Saturday as the team took a 65-33 loss against hosting Monument Valley. The defeat marks the second loss against Monument Valley this season and the eighth straight loss in region play.

The Mustangs came out with a game-high 18 points in the first while holding the visiting Panthers to seven. Shooting woes continued in the second as Pinnacle managed only four points, going into the break trailing 33-11.

While the Panthers’ shooting improved in the second half, Monument Valley maintained control, going on to outscore Pinnacle 32-22, securing the win.

Nikki Borba led the Panthers’ efforts with 10 points, including two buckets from downtown. Stephanie Sasser managed nine points in the game and Alexus Salazar added five.

Pinnacle (7-15, 0-8 Region 19) will look for its first region win on Tuesday as the team travels to take on #3 Monticello (9-7, 3-3 Region 19). Monticello handed the Panthers a 46-24 loss back on Jan. 26.
