The Lady Panthers had three road games last week and started off hot.

On Tuesday against West Ridge, Pinnacle held their opponent scoreless in two of the four quarters. Stephanie Sasser led the Lady Panthers with 18 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks for her first double-double of the year. Destinee Andrews pulled down 13 rebounds while Kemery Stuckenschneider had a team-high six steals.

Head coach Mark Stuckenschneider gave his Reader’s Digest version of the game “They struggled to get their offense going,” he said. “We were faster, forced several turnovers at the beginning of the game, leading to several fast break points.”

Pinnacle won by a football score, 30-7.

The Lady Panthers were up after one quarter of play against Rockwell on Thursday, 13-11. They got roughed up in the second quarter and found themselves down by five at halftime. They then followed the Marshals step for step in the third but the fourth quarter was not kind to Pinnacle as they were outscored 17-2 to ultimately lose 45-25.

Sasser had another double-double with 11 points and 19 rebounds. Andrews recorded 11 rebounds and Kemery added another four steals in the game.

Pinnacle then opened region play with a visit to Wayne. They were beat easily 66-15.

“Wayne is a really good team,” Stuckenschneider said. “We were very tired with three away games in the week.”

The Lady Panthers (3-5, 0-1 Region 19) will host Grand (3-5, 0-0 Region 15) on Tuesday. The game will be streamed live here. They will then head to a tournament at Altamont Prep Academy to play American Prep WV (3-4, 1-2) on Thursday. The Lady Panthers will then have a double header on Saturday against Tintic (2-5, 0-0 Region 21) and Utah Military Academy – Hillfield (3-3, 0-0).
