Starting on Thursday, the Pinnacle Lady Panthers clawed their way through three bouts of nonregion action, bringing home a nail-biting victory Friday night.
In Thursday’s faceoff against Altamont, the Longhorns blew past the hosting team, ending the first half with a 36-9 lead. Altamont continued its dominance in the next half, carrying the game’s final score to 64-17.
Friday, however, was the Lady Panthers’ time to shine at the Manila Holiday Classic as Pinnacle went up against Intermountain Christian. The game opened with Pinnacle lagging behind 10-7 at the end of the first and the second finding the Lions leading by four. Things turned around in the third, however, as Pinnacle managed to put up a game-high 14 while holding the Lions to 25.
Battle ensued in the fourth for Pinnacle to hold on to its lead. Fighting till the end, the Panthers managed to hold the Lions off and bring home a nail-biting 39-38 victory.
Saturday was another tale for the Panthers, however, as the team went up against Rangely. Grabbing a 23-4 lead in the first, Rangley ran away with the victory after four quarters of brutal action, ending the game 83-17.
The Pinnacle Lady Panthers will look for another victory Monday evening as the team faces off against Altamont once again.
