Green River hosted Whitehorse on Thursday for a volleyball match. This game was full of ups and downs as the two teams traded blows.
The Lady Pirates took a close first set 26-24. Whitehorse battled back in the second set to tie the game at one set apiece with a 25-15 win. The third set also required additional points to declare a victor. It was the Lady Raiders this time around that ended up on top, 27-25. With their backs against the wall, the Pirates had a strong fourth set, winning 25-12, to force a fifth set. The Lady Pirates prevailed in the crucial set, 15-10, to complete the comeback.
Green River (8-4, 4-1 Region 19) will be on the road on Monday to play Milford (8-3, 5-2 Region 20). The Lady Pirates will then host their rivals, the Pinnacle Panthers (3-14, 0-3 Region 19), on Thursday.
