The Green River Lady Pirates continued their winning ways Friday night against Whitehorse, beating the visiting team 61-28. With the win, Green River wrapped up the #2 seed out of Region 19.
The team will take on Valley in the first round of the 1A Playoffs that begin Wednesday at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.
The Lady Pirates held Whitehorse scoreless in the opening quarter to earn the region victory. Presley Lovato scored a career- and game-high 19 points, including three threes. Savannah Williams and Cassidy Bastian both added 10 and combined for 15 rebounds.
The boys’ continued their disappointing season, losing to Whitehorse 42-39. The Pirates have two games remaining on their schedule, Tuesday at home against Grand and Feb. 25 at Monticello. Tuesday’s game against the Red Devils will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10.
