Maribel Escalante nailed five threes in the Green River Lady Pirates’ 44-34 loss to Monticello Tuesday night. The loss drops Green River to 5-2 in Region 19 action. With just one game remaining, the team has already secured the #2 seed out of Region 19 for the upcoming 1A Playoffs next week in Richfield.
Escalante continued her hot shooting, connecting on five threes in the loss to region-leading Monticello. She has nailed at least five threes in four of her last five games. She leads the entire state of Utah, across all classifications, with 63 treys made on the season.
