The Green River Lady Pirates are playing their best ball at the best possible time. Maribel Escalante and Savannah Williams powered Green River to a big 58-40 road victory over Whitehorse on Friday.
Williams had 18 points and 18 boards. Escalante hits five threes en route to 18 points. Her five threes give her 53 total on the season, good for the most in the state, 1A-5A.
After falling behind after the first quarter, the Lady Pirates outscored Whitehorse 50-29 the rest of the way.
Green River (6-12, 4-1 Region 19) will travel to Monument Valley (8-7, 2-3 Region 19) on Friday. The Lady Pirates won the first meeting 51-44 on Jan. 22.
