The Lady Spartans finally broke through with a victory when they hosted South Summit on Tuesday night in Castle Dale.
Emery erupted with five goals in the match, including three in the first half and two in the second. The Spartans finally got the offense going in the 5-0 victory after only averaging one goal per game in the first four contests of the season.
Junior Sydney Stilson found the back of the net twice while Tenyson Allred (sophomore), Kiralyn Olsen (junior) and Aspen Hansen (sophomore) each added a goal of their own. Kiri Cook had five saves in the shutout.
The Lady Spartans (1-4) will hope to carry over their momentum when they take on Millard (5-2) on the road on Thursday.
