After a relatively slow first half, the Emery Lady Spartans exploded in the second as they outscored the Union Cougars 50-24 to cruise to a 85-47 win on Tuesday.
Megan Jensen scored 21 points on 10-13 from the field to lead Emery in just 20 minutes of work. Kacelyn Toomer was right behind with 20 points. She also added eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Bailey Huggard had a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lainee Jensen chipped in eight points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kinlee Toomer had a team-high nine assists.
Leading 35-23 at halftime, Emery held Union to just two points in the third quarter and led after three quarters of play, 58-25.
Emery (4-0, 0-0 Region 15, #1 in 3A) will travel to take on the Beaver Beavers (2-1, 0-0 Region 18) on Thursday. The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
