Bailey Rasmussen led three Emery Lady Spartans in double figures in the team’s thrashing of Grand Tuesday night, 65-37. Emery ran its unbeaten Region 15 record to 4-0.

Since Emery dropped from class 3A to 2A for the 2011-12 season and entered Region 15, in eight games against Grand, including the playoffs, the Spartans have outscored the Red Devils 508-222. Emery is a perfect 8-0 in those games.

After a slow first quarter, Camry Johnson stole a pass from Grand’s Talaunee Croasmun on the opening play of the second and the ball would end up in the hands of Rasmussen who hit a 10-foot jumper to spur the Lady Spartans to a 26-12 halftime lead.

Emery really got things going in the third and used a 14-1 run to end the quarter to extend its lead to 45-22.

The fourth quarter saw a bunch of underclassmen log minutes as the Lady Spartans would lead by as many as 31 points. A total of 11 Spartans scored at least one point in the game.

Emily Olsen finished the game with 11 points. Baylor Griffin was the other Lady Spartan in double figures with a career-high of 10. Ashton Bell chipped in nine points and a team-high seven rebounds. Emery nailed eight three pointers in the game.

Fourth-ranked Emery (8-4, 4-0 Region 15) will make the trip to Wasatch Academy (4-6, 0-4 Region 15) on Thursday.
