The Lady Spartans made quick work of the ALA Eagles on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the state tournament. The contest took place at Orem High school with Emery’s talent level on full display. The starting squad was extremely focused in the 20 minutes it played and left a sizable impression on any teams that stuck around to watch the defending champs. The Lady Spartans dominated the Eagles, 86-15.

Emery had the opportunity to let every player in the game at some point during the matchup, including the team’s freshman. It could go a long way to their progression for the remaining of the tournament and/or the coming years.

Coach Lynn Tuttle had a few comments after the victory. “We are still preparing for next week. It’s a different atmosphere [in the state games],” hew said. “I look at it as a new season.”

After Morgan beat Union later in the day, it punched its ticket to take on the Lady Spartans on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 5:50 p.m. in Richfield.
