Lady Spartans Fall 53-47 to Braves at Home

After a promising first half, the Lady Spartans couldn’t keep up their high-scoring action and ended up handing the victory to the visiting North Summit Braves during a bout of nonregion action on Friday.

Sophomore Megan Jensen led her team by netting 19 points during the action with teammate Kacelyn Toomer scoring 14. Toomer also landed four three-point shots.

Though at the end of the first half, the black and gold led by 26-20, North Summit responded strongly in the third, lighting up the scoreboard with 28 points in the the quarter alone compared to Emery’s 15. The lead, now in North Summit’s favor, continued into the fourth, leading to a 53-47 loss overall for Emery.

The Lady Spartans will continue their action Tuesday night as the team hosts North Sanpete. Varsity action is slated to begin at seven that evening.
