The Lady Spartans headed to warmer weather to continue their season over the weekend. They played five games in two days and blew out their competition on Friday. They beat Millard (17-1), Virgin Valley (22-1) and Judge Memorial (17-1) all on Friday.
Emery opened Saturday off with a 9-4 win against North Ridge. The team then faced Dixie in a close affair. Emery struck first with a run in the third but Dixie answered back to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom half. Dixie added another run in the fourth but Emery would not go away. The Lady Spartans scored one run in the fifth and another in the sixth to tie the game at three. Unfortunately, Dixie would walk off with the game-winning single in the seventh to take the 4-3 victory.
Adrianne Childs went 13-17 for a .765 average over the weekend with three doubles, a triple, a home run, eight RBIs and 10 runs scored. Taleigh Price led the team with five doubles and 11 RBIs and went 9-16. Raegan Rasmussen went 10-15 for a .667 average.
Braileigh Clark pitched four innings without giving up an earned run and only gave up three hits. Kaylee Price and Cambrie Jensen also pitched four innings and gave up only one earned run apiece. Bailey Huggard led the Lady Spartans with 10 strikeouts over 6.1 innings pitched.
Emery (4-2, 0-1 Region 15) has home games against North Sanpete (4-2, 1-0 Region 15) and Grand (3-4, 2-1 Region 15) on Wednesday and Thursday before they head off to play at N. Sanpete on Friday.
