The Lady Spartans ran off with the lead late in the game in an 11-6 victory over San Juan on Friday. In the bottom of the fifth Cambrie Jensen doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Adrianne Childs led Emery to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-5 at the plate. Childs drove in runs in the second, a double in the fifth, and a single in the sixth. Emery opened up scoring in the first inning. Regan Rasmussen was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. San Juan tied the game up at four in the top of the fourth inning, when an error scored one run for San Juan. Braileigh Clark earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for the Spartans. She surrendered two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out five. Gracee Bowers took the loss for San Juan. She allowed 18 hits and ten runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Emery ended up with 18 hits on the day. Autumn Stilson, Ambree Bennett, Jensen, Childs and Taliegh Price each had multiple hits for Emery. Stilson led the spartans with four hits in four at bats.
