The Lady Hawks came to town on Wednesday to take on the Lady Spartans. N. Sanpete scored two quick runs on back to back homers to open the game. Emery would immediately answer back to tie the game when Taleigh Price hit a two out double with the based loaded.
The Lady Spartans then took the lead in the second on a three-run home run by Adrianne Childs to go up 5-2. The Hawks scored one run in the fifth to cut their deficit to two. In the seventh, N. Sanpete scored another run to make it 5-4, but Emery held tough to win the game.
Ambree Bennett went 3-4 and Madisyn Alton went 1-2 with two walks as the top of the order did its job of getting on base. The heart of the order came through when Adrianne and Taleigh had some clutch hitting. Bailey Huggard recorded the win giving up three runs on five hits through five innings and had three strikeouts.
