The Emery Lady Spartans extended their win streak to four as the team picked up a win against North Sanpete in their region opener on Tuesday.
The Hawks traveled to Castle Dale for the matchup where a slow first half doomed them to the loss. Emery connected with the net three times in the first half while blanking North Sanpete to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
North Sanpete responded with two goals of its own in the second, which Emery matched, giving the Spartans the 5-2 region victory.
Alexis Winter led the Spartans offensively with three goals. Morgan Hurdsman and Teah Lowry both added a point to the board.
Emery (5-1, 1-0 Region 15) will continue region play as the team hosts Grand (1-1, 0-1 Region 15) on Thursday in Castle Dale. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
