In another dominating performance, the Emery Lady Spartans welcomed the San Juan Broncos to the Spartan Arena Tuesday night and sent them away with a 66-33 defeat in Region 15 action.

Megan Jensen led all scorers with 20 points on 8-10 shooting. She also pulled down seven rebounds. She scored nine of her 20 in the first 2:08 of the second quarter, in which the Lady Spartans outscored the Broncos 17-9.

Tuesday night’s performance looked similar to Emery’s game at home Thursday against North Sevier, in which the Lady Spartans nailed 12 threes en route to a big win. Lainee Jensen hit two threes and Kinlee Toomer hit another in the first 2:23 of the game to give the Lady Spartans an 11-4 lead. Jensen added another later on in the period for her third and final trey of the game to help Emery to the 16-5 lead after one quarter of play.

Megan Jensen took over in the second and added a three-point play with less than 10 seconds left in the half as Emery saw its lead balloon to 33-16 at halftime.

The Lady Spartans took their first 20-point lead on two free throws by Kacelyn Toomer at the 5:28 mark of the third, which ended with Emery leading 46-24.

Emery played a total of 13 players in the game, many of which saw action in the fourth. Hailey Jo Allred, Kira Sailing, Madisyn Alton and Ambree Bennett combined for 14 of the Lady Spartans’ 20 points in the fourth quarter.

After Megan Jensen’s 20, Lainee Jensen and Kacelyn Toomer both added 11 points. Kinlee Toomer chipped in nine points, four assists and four steals.

Emery (13-1, 4-0 Region 15, #2 in 2A) will travel to Moab on Thursday for a matchup with Grand (5-5, 0-3 Region 15). The game will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
