Hoping to advance in the 2A State Tournament, the Emery Lady Spartans ended up being shutout by the Waterford Ravens on Wednesday with a final score of 7-0.
Waterford found the net five times in the first and two in the second, leading to the overall victory. The Ravens will advance and face off against Delta this weekend in the next round of the tourney.
Emery finished third in Region 15 action overall, scoring an even number of four region wins and four losses. Lady Spartan Morgan Hurdsman finished the 2016 season with a total of 10 goals over 15 games. Teammate Jocee Funk finished with six goals as well.
