A matchup on the road for the Lady Spartans ended in a shutout as the team dominated against hosting South Sevier on Thursday.
The Spartans went into the break with a small lead after putting two on the board. The scoring continued for Emery in the second as the team notched four more, stamping out South Sevier 6-0.
Alexis Winter led the offense with three goals followed by Jocee Funk with two. Teryn Allred rounded out the scoring with a lone goal.
The Spartans’ net was protected by Mileena McElvaney as she posted the shutout for Emery.
Sitting in second for Region 15 play, Emery will look to unseat first-place Manti as the team travels on Thursday. The Spartans will then return home next week as they host Grand on Sept. 12.
