The Lady Spartans smashed Rockwell in just three innings during a play-in game on Monday, 18-3.
Rockwell opened the game with two runs. Emery answered with an impressive 13-run first inning. The Spartans didn’t let up as they allowed just one more run while notching five more of their own.
In addition to getting the win in the circle, Emery’s Ashton Bell notched three RBIs on two singles and a triple. Carlie Robinson hit two doubles and got five RBIs in the game as well. Jessica Mason was also impressive for Emery, hitting two singles and three RBIs.
With the win, the Lady Spartans will advance to the first round of the state playoffs on Thursday in Spanish Fork. The team will go up against Enterprise, the first seed in Region 13, at 1 p.m. If the Spartans win, they will play again at 5 p.m. the same day.
