Emery held on for an exciting 9-8 win yesterday against the visiting Grand County Red Devils.
Tied 2-2 going into the fifth inning, the Lady Spartans scored four runs to take a 6-2 lead, then scored three more in the sixth to extend their lead to six. The Lady Red Devils attempted a comeback in the sixth, but Jeridi Price and the rest of the Spartans defenders stopped it just in time to pick up their first region victory of the year.
Bryton Hess homered in the game, her third in the last the last three games. Price tripled and Auminee Bennett bagged a double.
Emery (4-7, 1-1 Region 15) will travel to Delta (6-5, 0-0 Region 12) tomorrow for a matchup with the Rabbits.
