Over the weekend, the Lady Spartans tennis team competed in the region portion of the season competitions. Below is a list of the scores that the ladies were able to snag.
In the first singles, Samantha Roberts played, first facing San Juan and scoring 3-6, 3-6. Versus Millard, Roberts scored 6-4, 6-2 and versus Grand, 2-6, 3-6. Roberts took sixth place.
Second singles was played by Hannah Morris. First, against Richfield, she nabbed 0-6, 1-6. Next, she faced Millard and tallied scores of 6-4, 6-2. Against Grand she scored 0-6, 4-6. Morris secured sixth place as well.
Third singles, played by Amanda Johansen, began with a match against Grand with scores of 7-6, 4-6, 7-6. Against Manti, she scored 0-6, 0-6. Next, against North Sanpete, she finished with a score of 3-6, 1-6. Johansen took fourth place and will be competing at the state level.
First doubles was played by Kiana Pittman and Reagan Sitterud, beginning with a match against South Sevier. That match ended with a final tally of 6-3, 6-0. Against Richfield, they scored 1-6, 0-6 and the final match against Manti ended with 3-6, 2-6. The duo also secured fourth place and will be competing at state.
Second doubles, played by Macie Nielson and Jordynn Wolford, began with a match facing San Juan with a score of 7-6, 6-0. Next, against Richfield, they nabbed scores of 1-6, 0-6. Finally, facing Manti the duo took scores of 4-6, 2-6. Also ending in fourth place, Nielson and Wolford will attend state.
State competitions are slated to take place on Sept. 29 and 30.
