Emery opened its season on the road in Cedar City against the Cedar Reds. The Lady Spartans were able to keep pace with the Lady Reds early and the contest was tied at 13 after one quarter. It was a similar story in the second, but Cedar was able to grab a narrow advantage to lead 29-26 at half.

Again, the third quarter was close but Cedar snagged an additional point to its lead. Cedar then opened up the scoring in the fourth as Emery lost its opener 56-47.

Tambrie Tuttle lead the Lady Spartans with 15 points and seven rebounds. Tayden Nielson and Kiri Cook each added 11 points and five rebounds while the latter added three blocks in the effort. Hailey Allred pulled down five rebounds as well.

The Lady Spartans (0-1) will hope to get back on track when they host Union on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The home opener will be brought to you live from the Spartan Center on ETV Channel 10 and etvnews.com.
