Large Sum Raised at Bags N’ Brews Cornhole Fundraiser Tournament

The third annual Community Nursing Services (CNS) Bags N’ Brews Cornhole Tournament recently took place once again at the Carbon County Event Center. This tournament was hosted to raise money for the organization’s Senior Wish Program as well as four children in the community that have life-limiting illnesses.

The CNS Senior Wish Program gives senior patients the opportunity to experience new adventures or relive a cherished past memory. Senior Wish is credited as CNS’s way of honoring a generation of hard-working individuals with a special experience. Most of the Senior Wish recipients are in a medically fragile state and have entered into palliative or hospice care. The age of recipients vary and wishes are granted to patients regardless of age. Wishes can be something as simple as a meal purchased from a favorite restaurant for a bed-bound patient to something as thrilling as going for a ride in a race car.

“Senior wishes are very meaningful to patients and their caregivers,” stated Charity Kiahtipes of CNS.

CNS has served approximately 882 individuals with the Senior Wish Program. Over 300 individuals were in attendance at this fundraiser, which received funds that totaled over $15,000.
