Carbon High School Leadership Management Class Press Release
Members of the Carbon High Leadership Management class are planning a patriotic display and commemorative event to remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
The leadership management class will host a school assembly open to the public on Sept. 11 at 2:30 p.m. to honor those who lost their lives. The assembly will feature a flag ceremony, musical numbers, commemorative videos and speakers. At the conclusion of the assembly, the student body will put the patriotic display together in front of the school.
The patriotic display will consist of approximately 3,000 red, white and blue flags placed between the brick letters spelling out “CARBON.” Each flag will have a name of one of the 2,977 people who died on 9/11 written on it. Posters with facts about 9/11 will be placed between the brick letters. Spotlights will make the display visible at night as well. Community members are welcome to view the display throughout the weekend.
