A suspicious leak at 100 N 300 E in Castle Dale caused road crews to divert traffic Friday morning.
Unaware of the leaking substance’s nature or origin, city officials decided to dig through the asphalt to try to learn more about the situation.
City officials hope to determine the cause of the leak and come up with a solution shortly.
Houses around the area lost water service at times throughout the day and well into the evening.
