Learning, Serving, Doing- Emery FFA Members Compete at State

Members of the Emery High FFA Chapter participated in many contests and activities at the state convention at SUU in Cedar City last week.  Makayla Jensen placed fourth in the Star State Farmer, receiving a scholarship. Riata Christiansen won the prepared public speaking contest and was runner-up to the State Star Greenhand. She will now compete at the national level this fall. Christiansen also participated on the nominating committee to help choose next year’s state officers.

The Parlimentary Procedure Team won second place. Students on this team included Koy Jensen, Riata Christiansen, Garret Christensen, Nate Gilbert, Lacy Hulse, Mason Moss with Makayla Jensen as alternate.

Jessica Fox, Korby Christiansen, Ethan Staples, Josie Gilbert, Jessie McElprang, JayCee Bennet, and Maryn Allred were members of the Chapter Conduct Team that finished third.

The following members received their state FFA degree: Logen Ewell, Nate Gilbert, Koy Jensen, Mason Moss, Tialynne Moosman, Lacie Jo Funk, Makayla Jensen, Laci Hulse, Brittani Richards, and Aubrianna Milgliori. This degree required four years of extensive record keeping and participation in the FFA organization. Advisors for these students are Justin Thornley and Mistie Christiansen.
