Letter to the Editor: Give Trump a Chance

To The Editor,

We had an election and the voice of the people went for Donald Trump. After nearly six months in office, he still can’t get even the more insignificant jobs in his government approved by congress. The democrats, in congress, have fought him on every issue, no matter the issue or the result.

It is the insiders versus the outsiders, that being President Trump. There are several republicans who have gone out of their way to oppose the president, one being our own Mike Lee.

Some of the republicans have to get their heads and keeps their campaign promise. It has been proven time and again that there was no collusion between the president and Russia, but the insiders have to keep it going to cover their tracks in the past.

The only collusion there is, is between the Washington insiders and the anti-Trump news sources, like the New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC, CNN and PBS. I know that President Trump is a long way from perfect. He seems to enjoy the taste of shoe leather, but we needed someone other than a politician.

People have said that he is not qualified to be president. I say, considering our current 19 plus trillion dollar debt that he is extremely qualified. What was our other choice? It was Hillary Clinton, and she offered us nothing. She called us deplorables and cheated through her campaign, assured that she was going to be our next president.

The Washington insiders have to stop the Trump agenda, because if he is successful and gives us what he promised, he is good for four more years. What is it that Americans don’t like of Trump’s agenda? Don’t we want America secure against our enemies? Don’t Americans want reduced spending by their government? Don’t Americans want a simpler tax code? Don’t Americans want their jobs back?

He relaxed restrictions on fossil fuels, so coal miners have jobs and we can drill for our own oil. Don’t Americans want achievable, realistic environmental requirements that auto manufacturers can get to? How about school choice for American children? What about taking care of our veterans like they deserve and getting our military back to what it was, before our previous president took an ax to it?

What about restoring control of public lands back to the states, where it belongs? What about protecting social security and medicaid? What about protective religious freedom? What about protection of our second amendment rights? The list goes on, but there are some of the things President Trump said he wanted to do, and that’s why I voted for and supported him.

He is having an uphill battle to get these things done because democrats and republicans, who are Washington insiders, don’t like his messing up their cozy little scheme. Hillary was supposed to be their next president. Let’s give the man a chance and some common sense help. If he fails, he is a one-term president. If he succeeds in what he wants to do, then Americans succeed, too.

He is proud of America, and that shows in his relationship with other countries, friend or foe. If the insiders had their way, in four more years, we would have been done, as the greatest ever, on the face of this planet. There are good news sources that a person can go to that are not controlled by republicans, democrats or the anti-Trump news.

I know there will be those who disagree with me, because they still trust the evening news. On the night of the terrorist bombing in Manchester, England, CNN and MSNBC couldn’t let go of the Trump/Russia crap long enough to cover the bombing. Once more, I say there is no proof. In fact, security leaders from Obama’s administration have said there is no proof of collusion.

When the president claims “fake news” he is exactly right. Over 90% of the news is controlled by people like George Seros, who wants control of the country. Even some of Fox News is headed for the dark side. Forget your political party and put America first.

Mr. Trump is our legally elected president and it is time for the country and congress to get behind him and give him a chance. At this time, if he fails, it will be because he had no support from congress. I suffered eight long years, waiting for his presidency to be out and it is time to give him a chance.
