At approximately 12 p.m., a fire erupted near Consumers Road which lies between Price and Helper. Authorities suspect that the spark was created by one of the many lightning strikes that have been hitting the area since noon.

Authorities, including Helper City Fire Department and deputies from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, responded quickly. They are working quickly, with help from the rain, to extinguish the fire before it can cause damage by coming in contact with a nearby gas line.
