Linda Diane Goniotakis Doporto

Salt Lake City – Linda Diane Goniotakis Doporto passed away, in the arms of her daughter, unexpectedly on October 18, 2019 after several illnesses. She was a loving mother, Yia Yia, sister, aunt and friend to many. Diane was 69 years old.

Diane was born March 24, 1951, in Dragerton, Utah to Steve E. and Sarah (Sue) Francis Coggins Goniotakis. She was the second of three girls.

Diane grew up in East Carbon where she was active in church and school activities; Vikette Club and the Drama Club. Drama was one of Diane’s favorite classes and she was in many school plays.

Diane graduated from East Carbon High School in May 1969 and married Michael Doporto June 14, 1969, where they moved to Colorado for a short time. They returned to East Carbon to live and raise their five beautiful children.

Diane started work at the United States Post Office in East Carbon on May 15, 1979 and continued that employment for approximately seven years.

Later in life she and her children moved to Salt Lake City and she remained there until her untimely death.

Diane is survived by her husband and children, Jennifer Jill, Alysia Diane, Adam Jake and Marcus Jeffery. She has eight grandchildren, Kayden, Jayden, Emma, Dominique, Whitney, Joseph, Marcus Angelo, and Adrian Anthony. She also has three great-grandchildren Mia Sage, Lincoln and Andre. Sister Terri (Art) Salas, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Sue Goniotakis; step-father Warren Whitlock. Daughter Michael Suzanne Doporto Flemett, in-laws Melchor and Emma Doporto. Sister Patricia (Patsy) Frandsen and many in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will take place at Capital Church, 1010 East 700 South, in Salt Lake City. The viewing is scheduled for 11 a.m. with the funeral following at 12 p.m. The burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at 17111 South 1700 West in Bluffdale.
