The Sliderz, composed of local 11-year-old baseball players, won the recent Border Wars Tournament, taking home five victories over the weekend.
The traveling team went 5-0 at the tournament, scoring 42 runs while giving up only eight throughout the handful of games.
Team members of the Sliderz include Rydge Butler, Anthony Wilson, Brax Tapia, Deagan Richards, Jace Barlow, Kanon Childs, Kayden Vasquez, Logan Madrigal, Stockton Kennedy, Tyrus Madsen, Memphis Howell and Michael Vigil. The team is coached by Gilbert Vasquez, Cip Madrigal and Steve Childs.
