Local 11U Team Wins Border Wars Baseball Tournament

The Carbon Chaos, a local 11U baseball team, went undefeated to win the Border Wars baseball tournament held in Grand Junction, Colo. on April 7-8.

The tournament featured teams from Western Colorado, Southeast Wyoming, and Eastern Utah.

The Chaos opened up pool play in a tough match against the Grand Valley Raptors, which the Chaos escaped with a 9-6 win before beating the Grand Junction Grizz Grey 18-0.

This earned the Chaos a spot in the semi-final where they defeated the Grizz Red, 10-2.

The championship game featured the Chaos against the undefeated Grand Junction Mavs. The Chaos jumped out front early and ended up winning the championship game by run-rule after four innings with a final score of 13-2.

Team members include: CJ Smuin, Quade Henrie, Cameron Vasquez, Skyler Madden, Camden Wilson, Riley Davis, Peyton Molinar, Maizen Prichard, Gabe Stacy, Ridge Nelson, and Wyatt Falk.

The team is coached by Pat Smuin, Ryan Falk and Shane Henrie.
