Local Cal Ripken Baseball Warns of Possible Fundraising Scam

The local Cal Ripken Youth baseball league wants to warn the Price community to be careful when asked to donate to support the league. Local representative Nicole Steele said Cal Ripken is aware of a woman asking for cash donations to pay fees for kids that cannot afford to play.

Steele said that no child is ever denied the ability to play if they cannot afford the fees and that there is no fundraising effort underway for that cause that is sanctioned by the Cal Ripken League.

Parents and players are selling raffle tickets to help fund equipment and other cost associated with Cal Ripken baseball and softball. If someone asks for a cash donation that is not selling a raffle ticket, people are advised not to donate.

Those with questions regarding making a legitimate donation should contact Nicole Steele at (435) 820-9686.
