Local Junior High Schools Compete in CVAA Annual Honor Choir Concert

On Tuesday, junior high students from Helper, Mont Harmon, San Rafael and Canyon View performed at the CVAA Annual Honor Choir Concert at Emery High School.

Guest conductor Dr. Keith Bradshaw and accompanist Marilee Cox led the students through a selection of music from the solo and ensemble choir and the honor choir. Bradshaw serves as chair of the music department at Southern Utah University, where he teaches courses in theory, aural skills, analysis and orchestration. Among his many other achievements, his work has been published by Oxford, Alfred and Sounds of Zion.

Students from the solo and ensemble choir are Mikayla Metzger, Jenna Jensen, Rayann Lee, Cheyenne Jeffs, Astasia Gomez and Karlie Bright from Helper Junior High; Dallin Grant, Sarah Clark from Mont Harmon Junior High; Cambrie Bennett, Hayden Cloward from San Rafael Junior High; and Kira Sailing, Nate Gilbert, Litzi Villalba from Canyon View Junior High.

The honor choir performed songs arranged by Kirby Shaw, Linda Spevacek, D. Stoker, Teena Chinn and Aaron Copland.
