The SPF-SIG Communities That Care Coalition met Wednesday at the Carbon County School District offices to discuss concerns over potential prescription drug abuse in families within the Hospice Program.
Rocky Mountain Home Care and Hospice social worker Alison Marrelli discussed the possibility of a joint effort with The Coalition to educate people on the dangers of prescription drug abuse.
Hospice is a program that aids many patients with terminal illnesses who decide against potential life saving treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy. The Hospice helps people to live naturally and comfortably at home.
The Hospice would like to pull the Coalition in as an authority. The organizations want to support each other wherever possible.
