Shayla Pitchforth was named the winner of the local Texaco Country Showdown at the Emery County Fair on Friday night.
Pitchforth was then made eligible to participate in the State competition.
Pitchforth and Aspen Bloomer finished the regular portion of the competition tied on the judges’ score sheets, and Pitchforth prevailed in the sing-off.
The Texaco Country Showdown celebrated its 30th year. The competition has visited the local area for three years.
