If you want to hunt cow elk, doe deer or doe pronghorn this fall — and you’ve been trying to find a copy of the 2011 Antlerless Guidebook — you can stop looking.

A printed copy of the guidebook won’t be available this year. Instead, starting May 24, you can find everything you need to apply at one place — www.wildlife.utah.gov.

“Once you get used to it,” says Staci Coons, “we think you’ll like the change.”

Coons leads the Division of Wildlife Resources team that puts Utah’s hunting, fishing and trapping guidebooks together.В  “Starting this year,” she says, “everything you need to apply — including detailed topographical maps, hunt tables, boundary descriptions and the application itself — will be available in one spot.”

Coons says information for this fall’s antlerless big game hunts will be available at www.wildlife.utah.gov starting May 24. The 2011 antlerless big game application period opens June 1.

For more information, call the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources office or the DWR’s Salt Lake City office at (801) 538-4700.
