The Helper Merchants walked off for the win after a two-run seventh inning to beat Roosevelt 7-6 Tuesday night in Helper.

After a solo home run by Cody Lowe tied the game at six in the bottom of the seventh, Jadon Robertson singled home Nate Olson, who walked and advanced to third on a stolen base and an error, for the winning run. It was Robertson’s only hit of the game.

Helper got on the board early in the game, notching five runs in the top of the first. After walks to Ty Anderson and Jayden Flemett to lead off the game, Lowe tripled to score two runs and was driven home by Olson on a single a batter later. Olson then stole home and Zac Bradley was plated on a passed ball later in the inning.

Helper spread around six additional hits, with no runs, over the next six innings before Lowe got things going with his home run.

Lowe took the win on the mound as well, tossing the complete game. He gave up just two earned runs on five hits while striking out four. Lowe also went 2-4 with three RBIs.

Collin Lewis went 2-3 in the game with a double and a single. JP Powell also had two hits, both singles.

Helper will host Westlake on Friday night at 8 p.m.
