Members of the community gathered at the Helper City Cemetery Wednesday evening to participate in a luminary memorial ceremony hosted by Utah’s Christmas Festival committee.

Participants purchased small outdoor solar lights provided by the committee to place on their loved ones’ grave. By the end of the event, the cemetery was lined with lights in remembrance of those who have passed away.

The ceremony was one of several events hosted as part of the 25th annual Christmas Town Festival. Friday night, a chili dinner was be conducted at the Helper Civic Auditorium prior to the electric light parade that began at 7 p.m. The light parade also took place Saturday night followed by fireworks.

Santa paid a visit to the auditorium to have breakfast with kids on Saturday morning. All of these activities are part of Utah’s Christmas Town Festival.
