Green River hosted its annual city picnic at the O.K. Anderson Park on Thursday.
The community of Green River came together to wrap up the Make a Difference Campaign and enjoy the dinner and fun events together. The picnic featured a bounce house, giant slide, rock climbing wall and mechanical bull, which were all free to the public.
Those in attendance also enjoyed a hearty meal of pulled pork and sides to accompany it. The meal was also free of charge for all. Prizes were given to those that participated in the Make a Difference Campaign.
The Green River Medical Center was a main sponsor of the event. A representative from the Huntsman Cancer Institute also attended the picnic. She took a moment to educate the community of the importance of receiving screenings. She also informed the community that there will be a cancer screening van coming to Green River in the near future.
