The bustling Helper community once again welcomed visitors far and wide with open arms during the Experience Helper Utah event that was hosted throughout the day on Thursday.

Businesses along the street were open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day, with the exception of the Western Mining and Railroad Museum, which was open until 7 p.m. Those that participated were able to obtain maps of open businesses and galleries at the museum.

This event featured a packed schedule with something for everyone to enjoy. Live music was provided by “Out The Back Door” at Anne Jespersen Fine Art while poet performances were hosted at K2 Gallery and Canvas Alchemy.

River tours were hosted at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. along the walkway, with members of the National Park Service guiding those that attended through the improvements already made through the River Restoration Project while also guiding them through the upcoming ventures.

Along with poetry, Canvas Alchemy also welcomed all that wished to participate to a number of workshops. Two writing workshops were hosted at 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. while a tie-dye workshop was hosted at 2 p.m. Finally, a State Historic Architect tour was hosted at 2:30 p.m. and began at the museum.
