Marilyn Kaye Brinkley (Wayman) was born in Dragerton Utah on April 15, 1954 to Movell and Marjorie Wayman (Webb). She went to school in Dragerton (East Carbon City) Utah and Married Kenneth Brinkley and had her 4 children. She divorced and moved to Grand Junction, CO with her children in 1981. Marilyn worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a phlebotomist for many years. She most recently retired from the 29rd Safeway Store after 15 years of service.
Marilyn was a fun, outgoing person with a beautiful laugh. She brought joy to the lives of those who knew her. Marilyn loved spending time with her family in the outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping, swimming and BBQing. She loved animals especially her pets. She was once an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. Marilyn spent countless hours doing puzzles and playing cards.
Marilyn struggled with depression most of her life. She fought long and hard and recently things started to look up for her. While Marilyn lived alone and often felt lonely she had more people who loved her than she realized and she will be missed by many.
She is preceded in death by Her parents Movell and Marjorie Wayman, Brother Billy Wayman, Nephew Randy Shawn Wayman.
She is survived by her children Johnnie (Alison) Brinkley, Christina (Kirk) Payton, Laura (David) McKnight, and Charley (Missy) Brinkley. Grand Children: Michael McKnight, Zaira Bollig, Wyatt and Delaney Brinkley and Kenny Brinkley. She was G-ma to Jaden, Emma and Jacob McKnight. Brothers Clyde (Debbie) Wayman, Randy (Linda) Wayman, Lanny Wayman and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial will be held Sunday October 8, 2017 at 12:00 Duck Pond Park 415 Santa Clara Ave, Grand Junction CO 81503 Family requests live flowers or plants instead of cut flowers per Marilyn’s request.
