Marioliver Migliaccio

Marioliver Dochia Sowers Bowerman Migliaccio was the daughter of Major Baldwin Sowers and Julia Marie Agatha Grand Pre. She was born in Concordia, Kansas on July 11, 1926, and died September 22, 2022. She passed away in the home of Von and Cindy Bowerman. Married September 13, 1945, to Leroy Bowerman, who proceeded her in death March 16, 1971. Also, married to Frank Migliaccio, April 18, 1981, who preceded her in death March 3, 1987.

Marioliver, commonly known as Mom, Paulyo, Polly, Grandma, Grandma Dochia, Granny, and Granny Great, lived in Concordia, Kansas until the age of 13 when she and her family moved to Glendale, Arizona.

Growing up during the depression, Paulyo and her family worked in the vegetable fields. During World War II, she and her mother repaired war planes. During this time, she met Leroy Bowerman and they were married after the war. While raising four children, their life followed the adventures of the Uranium industry through out Colorado, Utah and settling in Green River, Utah. In Green River, Polly was employed as school lunch manager, worked as a baker in local restaurants, and became famous for her giant delicious cinnamon “Polly Rolls.” Later in life, she grew and sold melons. Mother had a passion for art, family, and clothes. She always laughed from her heart.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Tom) of Eatonville, WA; two sons, Von (Cindy) of Green River, UT; Paul (Jeannine) of Logandale, NV; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Marioliver is preceded in death by son, Larry Bowerman, granddaughter, Katina Bowerman, and great granddaughter, Taylor Johnson, sisters, Dolly Crosby, Dixie Longshore, and brother, Major Sowers.

As a family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mom’s son and daughter-in-law, Von and Cindy Bowerman, for their many years of dedication, beautiful and unconditional care for our mother, Marioliver. Also, a big thanks to Tyler and Shannon from the Green River Clinic for all their care.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Green River LDS Chapel with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at the Elgin Cemetery.
