Green River hosted its annual Melon Days celebration over the weekend, bringing in large crowds from throughout the world. Activities to be enjoyed included games, vendors, dancing and music, just to name a few. The city’s park was packed with crowds looking for entertainment and the free watermelons provided by local Green River growers.

The annual highlight was the parade that graced Main Street on Saturday morning. Folks young and old lined up to watch the floats pass by and fill bags with candy. Marching bands from Emery and Carbon High Schools led the parade with music. Miss Utah Dexonna Talbot was also featured in the parade this year.

The Melon Days celebration was made possible by the City of Green River and several other sponsors as well as the watermelon growers, including the Veteres, Dunhams and Thaynes.
