Members from both The Carbon and Emery chapters of FFA attended the national convention held in Louisville this past week.
Members from Emery FFA included adviser Justin Thornley, McKoy Christiansen, Dalton Bennett, Nathan Gilbert, Coy Jensen and Coy’s father Cody Jensen.
The convention and expo were the highlight of the trip with over 54,000 members from all of the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico and the American Virgin Islands in attendance. The keynote speaker, Rick Rigsby, counseled members on the importance of agriculture in our world today but especially how they need to gain wisdom from their advisers.
The Emery delegation flew into Nashville and while there attended the Grand Ole Opry. Other sights in the area they visited were the Caterpillar headquarters, John Deere pavilion, 240 Sweets Marshmallow Factory, Corvette car factory, and The Jim Beam Distillery. They were also able to visit six different states.
Dallen Twedell from the Carbon Chapter also attended the convention with his ag science fair exhibit.
He commented that the national FFA advisor was a very inspirational speaker.
